New Vicar

We are pleased to announce that the next Vicar of the Benefice of Cinderford with Littledean will be the Revd Mike Barnsley.

Mike has been serving as Assistant Curate of the Parish of  St. Lawrence, Biddulph, Staffordshire for the last three years.
Previous to that he was employed in the IT industry for 25 years, working in the USA and in many other countries in a consultant capacity.
In Church life he has served in many ways – as a PCC member and  secretary, in Youth Work, in Alpha and home groups, to name but  a few. He has also served as a School Foundation Governor, and worked in supporting the communities in which he lived, including being an RAC/ACU and IAM motorcycle safety officer. He owns and rides a customised Harley–Davidson motorcycle.
His interests, apart from the Church, include long distance motorcycle riding, politics, films, and “walking in beautiful countryside”.
Mike has three children, Rachel, Sarah and Joe.
Mike will be inducted as Vicar at St Stephens on Friday March 4th 2011 at 7.00 p.m.
