No Benefice Services this Sunday

Posted on:

Just a reminder that there are NO services at any of the Benefice churches this coming Sunday (18 November) as we will all be joining in with the Christmas Festival at Speech House.

The Festival is being organised by Anglican churches from across the Forest Deanery and the Bishop of Gloucester. Bishop Rachel will be attending the event and is looking forward to sharing time with as many people as possible.

The Festival takes place on Speech House Fields (Forest of Dean) THIS weekend – Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 November, 10 am – 4 pm both days. There will be a Christmas Craft Market, Indoor Sports Activities, Messy Church, School Choir Competition, “Songs of Praise”, Live Music, Dance Performances, Refreshments and much more!

There is jampacked Christmas Craft Market full of local individuals and businesses from around the Forest of Dean selling wonderful handmade creations. Alongside the 30 stalls packed with artisan goods are several Fairtrade stalls selling delicious treats and beautiful gifts that have been handmade by craftspeople from around the world.

There will also be hot food (provided by local Scouts troops – including vegetarian and gluten free options), Fairtrade teas / coffees and delicious cakes (profits to support Forest of Dean Salvation Army); indoor sports activities, Messy Church, school choir competition, live music and much much more!

Entry to the event is TOTALLY FREE and parking is also TOTALLY FREE!

Big thanks to Burlap and Bean and Cinderford Churches for donating the Fairtrade Tea & Coffee.

Craft Market, Food, Live Music (Sat & Sun, 10 am – 4 pm); Indoor Sports Area (Sat, 12 noon – 4 pm); Schools Choir Competition (Sat, from 1 pm); Songs of Praise (Sun, 10.30 am); Messy Church (Sun, from 1.00 pm); Dance performance (Sun, 1.30 pm & 3.00 pm).

Please do come along and join in the festive fun in the Heart of the Forest of Dean.
