Sabbatical Diary – Day 9

Mull of Kintyre Lighthouse
Mull of Kintyre Lighthouse

If you read my blog yesterday, you will know I should have been at Mull of Kintyre Lighthouse yesterday, but went to Glasgow instead.

Inspired by the trike starting first time with the new battery, I had the bright idea this morning of going all the way back to Campbeltown (125 miles in the wrong direction), and then doing the run that I should have done yesterday. Long day, but fantastic views around the Southern tip of the Mull, a visit to St Columba’s well and chapel, a visit to the Lighthouse (at least to the road down to the Lighthouse for a long distance photo). All good. (Didn’t manage to visit Gigha, but not really a part of what I’m doing, so all ok.)

So, I am staying where I should have been yesterday. So, tomorrow I have to do two days travel to catch up. Also three ferries. But hopefully, all will be well.

Should be on Iona tomorrow. Easy way to get there would be via ferry to Mull from Oban. I am going up to Corran (just South of Fort William), then across to Ardgour, down to Lochaline, across to Fishnish, then down to Ffionnphort and over to Iona.

Really looking forward to some time there, and hoping to join in with some services and prayer times at the Catholic House of Prayer (where I am staying), the Abbey and /or the Iona Community. And have some time for my own quiet time.

Not sure what signal I will have, or access to WiFi, so not sure when the next blog will be.

Thanks all for your prayers and support.

God bless,

Mike
