Benefice Day of Prayer

On Saturday 14 May, at Bishop Rachel’s invitation, there will be a Benefice Day of Prayer in St Stephen’s Church.

The day of prayer at St Stephen’s will be a day to come and enjoy creative prayer activity suitable for ALL ages.  The church will be open for 12 hours from 7am – 7 pm.

It would be wonderful if people could commit, to come and pray, for at least half an hour during the day.  There will be sheets circulating all the churches in the Benefice listing half hour slots.  We would like to cover the whole 12 hours praying for our Diocese, our Deanery, our Benefice, our Parishes and our Communities.  Please try to sign up for at least one half an hour slot. If you are unable to come and pray at church, it would be great if you can sign up to pray at home for half an hour.

Prayer is vital to our ministry.

For more information about the day, or to sign up for a slot, please see the sheets in church or contact Linda Blagg ([email protected] / 822153)

Bishop Rachel writes:

In 2012 a Diocesan vision statement was produced for Journeying Together. It underlined our desire to share the transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ with people in and around Gloucestershire. The aspirations and commitments in all of this remain unchanged and the next steps are to build on what we have achieved and move forward on our journey. I hope that every one of us will commit to be part of the vision process, which will unfold across the Diocese this year and be launched in Advent.  Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
