Sabbatical Diary – Day 33
View North, across the mouth of the Thames estuary, from Whitstable.
A good day. Very warm. Rode most of the day in shirtsleeves. Started at Frinton, because that’s where I was, then inland a bit, out to Holland on Sea and Clacton on Sea, then inland a bit and round to Bradwell on Sea to visit the Chapel of St Peter on the Wall. Inland again and back out to Shoeburyness and Southend on Sea, then back inland, across the Dartford Bridge, and out to Whitstable. Some very slow sections, particularly through bust resort areas, and some quick sections of dual carriageway and a little bit of motorway. All good.
Views up and down the Thames whilst going over the bridge were awesome, but always a little scary for me going over high bridges on a bike or trike. Worth it though.
I hadn’t really been to any of the coastal towns I visited today. A good evening. Eat outside looking at the sea. Very special.
Nice bit of reverse parking!
188 miles today, and clocked up 30,000 total miles on the trike since new.
God bless.
