Sabbatical Diary – Day 53

Posted on:

Harlech Castle.

Great weather again today. Dry, bright, and warmer than the last couple of days. Wonderful for riding.

Round the coast from Tywyn to Fairbourne, then inland and across the little wooden toll bridge and back out to Barmouth. Past Harlech, on to Porthmadog, Criccieth, Pwllheli, Abersoch, and, finally, Aberdaron.

Had a wander around the village and spent some time in the impressive St Hywyn’s Church.

The coracle in the corner

… was there as an example of the boats that pilgrims used to use to get to Bardsey. I am hoping for something a little bigger tomorrow!

Part of the view of the wonderful Aberdaron beach from our B&B.

Still not sure about what is happening tomorrow with respect to getting to Bardsey. Spoke to Colin, the ferryman, earlier. He will make final decision at around 8.00am tomorrow after he has ‘sniffed the wind’. His concern is wind, particularly Easterly, rather than rain. We will see.

God bless,

Mike
